Good news for all HP Zbook 14 users. It's been few years since I've been using World's first Ultrabook Workstation from HP. Have been fascinated by its performance, reliability. And now, even more performance "upgrades" by some driver updates. Of course it wouldn't go the same level performance as my new HP Zbook Studio G3, but, it delivers unexpected performance increases compare to today's computers/notebooks. And just as simple as this: it just gets faster.
Quadro vs. Geforce. Radeon Pro WX vs. Radeon Pro. All these questions may have lurked into some professional's minds and stayed there as some of them have been tightly adhered by extremely sticky super glue called cost comparison. Up until now, I still get lots of questions from customers/potential customers that are comparing between both.
Hardware: HP Zbook Studio G3
Software: McNeel Rhinoceros v5 for Windows --------------- 1990, the year the first time I saw it on the news and fell in love at first sight. The Northrop McDonnell Douglas YF-23, had been my all time jetfighter favorit. I had a dream of flying the RC one for many decades. And in the end, I'm now able to design my own YF-23 and fly it. A bonus: I'm able to share it to the world! HP RGS (Remote Graphics Software): Getting the Most Out of Both My HP Zbook Studio and Zbook 1431/5/2016 Computer migration. One thing that may not be a big deal for some people. But for me, it's a time consuming and one thing that I'd prefer doing it in long spare time. However, these days, spare time is considered as a luxurious entity in my daily activities. Not only to migrate all my data to a new computer, but making my computer more "bullet proof" to any issues in the future. Generally, it took me 4-5 straight days to set a new computer/notebook up. With the new Zbook Studio G3 arrived on my desk, the process will repeat. And I don't think that I have the time to do so as 4-5 straight days. But, it has to start somehow.
After waiting for quite sometime, watching it launched end of last year, I finally got my own HP Zbook Studio G3.
Slowing down, random errors, sudden restart etc., would be the last thing we wanna have when using our HP Workstation, or even daily computers at work, or even at home. There are so many possibilities of what causing the error(s). From just simple situation in power supply failure, HDD/SSD failure into more complex memory leak.
However, without the knowledge of how to address the possibilities of the issue comes from, we wouldn't be able to move forward and possibly need other people to do it for us. And, on my journey up to this point, I came across people who held their title in IT degrees, but didn't have sufficient knowledge to perform, even a small diagnostics to begin with. NOPE. For me, it will lead to GREATER FUN! Of course it has to be on the proper ways and paths. So, what's the title about? Here, it means greater computer power, greater features available in the software and greater knowledge needed to explore. The equation is resulting another greater finding as well: FUN! Yes, greater fun! Why? Because, you could make things that are started with imagination first!
It's been more than a year since my last article. Been a totally busy year, surely was 2015. Looks like it will get even busier in 2016. However, I'd like to extend my gratitude to HP Zbook owners and congratulate some of you who finally use your main gear for work, as well as for playing. It's time to blend work with pleasure with HP Zbook.
Sentra Grafika Kompumedia, as usual, has the great chance to deliver you the first hands on review of HP latest Personal and Mobile Workstation, the HP Z440 and HP ZBook 17 G2.
It will be a short review using Cinebench R15 and ATTO Bench32, that should be enough to show all of you, the power within these 2 HP Workstation beasts. HP LP2480ZX was the first HP DreamColor generation announced in March 2007, developed by HP in order to meet Dreamworks Animation SKG requirements in producing their animation features. This LP2480ZX display is able to sport full feature preview display up to full HD resolution. And it could be utilized to have 2K preview display as well, along with extremely accurate color, matching the industry standards (sRGB, REC601, REC709). It's about time for me to get back to the fast lane, using mobile workstation, after a year relying on my good old HP Envy 14 Spectre, aside from my HP 8760w. The Envy 14 had been serving me very well in every day's task, and it's time for it to take a break. Just got the new HP Zbook 14 around a week ago. The extra work would be migrating all data to this new speeding notebook.
So, by not wasting lots of time, I started to back up everything on my Envy 14, and prepare it to be migrated to the new ZBook 14. Aaaaah, ....... there's nothing like a peace and quite midnight to start migrating all my data. It's been few days since I've been putting some real-world practical tests on to the new HP Pro x2 410 G1 hybrid notebook. Yes, it's the new HP ultrathin notebook hybrid that could easily transform to Windows 8.1 tablet.
Since I've been using HP Mobile Workstations (the only notebook that doesn't fit to Mobile Workstation category yet I admire so much, is my HP Envy 14 Spectre) for years, once I had my hands on the HP Pro x2, I didn't have high expectation on it. Frankly speaking, I just wanna put some benchmark tests to see how it compared to other tablets and business notebooks. In the end, I'm quite surprised of what this new business product from HP can do. I decided to carry it along with me in some business meetings and presentations, and finish some of my daily tasks. Back in 2005 when HP made it released to public, the HP XW9300 Workstation was the King of The Hill. Not only equipped with Dual AMD Opteron Gen1 Processors, it accommodated Nvidia Quadro FX 4800, as the top-tier professional OpenGL graphics accelerator. Somehow, when I went to my "playground" (actually it used to be our demo and presentation room), my eyes got dragged to my old XW9300. It recalled few snapshots when most of workstation community users in Indonesia admired that particular workstation. Some questions surfaced "Can that thing operate now? How does it compare to other current HP Workstations? Should I bring it to life again?". Well, frankly speaking, I'm still building few RC planes now, inspired by some drones out there. But, my curiosity led me approaching that workstation.
If you use your smartphone, there are many ways in adjusting, tweaking and optimizing it to make sure that you have enough battery juice to power your smartphone the whole day. An additional way is bringing a portable power bank close to your smartphone. Let's have a look on some issues I encountered myself, on my daily work. I won't be mentioning every single of them, but only few that attracted my attention the most.
