Most Engineers and Graphics Artists choose HP Workstations as their Performance Rig to complete their tasks. It's always good to have the chance to get the latest HP Workstation or even HP Mobile Workstation. Before investment is made, mostly lots of discussions are being conducted along with IT departments or IT Support, to select which system that meets the demand and requirements of day-to-day jobs. However, some IT tech supports are also responsible to keep the HP Workstation at its peak performance to keep the deadline met, aside from the users themself.
This article, will try to help most HP Workstation existing customers and even potential customers, to have clearer reference on how to get the most out of your next HP Workstation investment.

Following up the information about new HP ZBook 15 as Realtime 4K Video Editing Beast, I've managed to secure my time in writing a hands on review, including the benchmark on "the beast". This would be the first hands on review of the unit in Indonesia.
Happy New Year 2014, Everyone! This very first day of 2014, after browsing the net for a while, I've found a very interesting video article about the new HP ZBook 15. Frankly speaking, the video brought my jaw on the table (of course on the table not the floor, because while I was watching it I put my Envy 14 Spectre on the table). I've never seen such performance in my life, coming out of a mobile workstation.
Selecting a notebook for your daily needs, or even using it for particular tasks could be easy, but sometimes it gets tougher than you think. Netbook had been left behind since lots of people are now being amazed by how tablet can do more tasks and have fun with it. However, notebook will still be here next to us. So, in order to assist you in choosing which notebook suits you, I would share some tips that might slightly be useful to you.
It's been few months since my last article in this site. However, I don't want you to have no updates which you may have missed in from any internet sources. So now, I'm gonna share one "small yet big" thing for Blender 3D: MOTION CAPTURE SUPPORT.
Most architects and designers are having difficulties in designing objects or even buildings with complex surfaces and structures. Well, this concerns and issues should be in the past, if they use Rhinoceros of McNeel & Associates.
Not just drafting 2D or modeling 3D objects, McNeel's Rhinoceros and Grasshopper associative modeling for Rhinoceros make paneling as easy as just drag and drop. This had been the answer for Moshe Safdie & Associates, an architect firm in Somerville, Massachusetts, when their design won the bid for prestigious Marina Bay Sands project, in Singapore. Not Long Ago, In The Industry Not Far Away ...
For those who have been in the 3D industry in Indonesia since 90's, you may be familiar with 3ds Max which I introduced to Indonesian market in 1996. I knew so many people not only in Indonesia, but some industry major players as well. One of the highly known and respected, is Daniel Martinez Lara known as Pepe. You may want to check his website at www.pepeland.com. He was one of few well known 3ds Max pioneering animators in the world. Why? Because 3ds Max was not being considered as a professional choice. I was also struggling in order to introduce 3ds Max in Indonesia. His thoughts were awesome in order to open up people's mind. So you're an engineer, designer, architect, ... what ever. So you use CAD, for daily work in drafting your production drawing. You need to ask few questions, before you come to the BIG QUESTION, listed as the title above. However, having more than 10 years of CAD experience on my end, seeing so many people using CAD (learning from the beginning - college, up to professionals), they don't use even 50% of the features even in just 2D CAD application. So, let's just go to the questions you need to ask your self.
I hope any of you haven't experienced an awful situation with your notebook, when you found all of a sudden, you're hard drive stopped working, and all of your important data might got lost, for good. HDD potential failures can happen even more when you're transporting your computer when it's up and running. For instance, you're having a presentation and it's your turn to show it, you'll bring your computer forward. Rough handlings, bumps, and even drops will bring the risk of HDD failure, up significantly.
So, this article will focus on the SSD performance, in order to put the HP Workstation performance to the next level, after giving you the information of RAID-0 config in previous article.
At this stage, Intel is so kind to lend me the their latest Solid State Drive (SSD), the 520 Series. Further information about the 520 Series can be found, here. Generally, it can deliver up random writes up to 80,000 IOPS and sequential write of 520 MB/s. The best feature of this latest SSD from Intel, is their End-to-End Data Protection, that will secure your data inside the drive and let you sleep smiling from ear to ear. 3 Years Old HP Z800 Bench Test, With "Good Old" Quadro FX 4800: Still Delivering Awesome Results.25/12/2012 Happy Holidays Everyone! Errrr ..... but I don't think I could keep my fingers for one. It tickles me to do things as I'm so consumed with my work on the weekdays. So, I decided to bench some numbers on my good old HP Z800 Personal Workstation, on a 30" LP3065 Display.
Compares to a decade ago, we significantly notice that the performance of the CPU and Graphics Card have been increasingly multiplied in catching up with the load of work in the industry for such power hungry application in 3D, structure analysis, rendering, real-time visualization and so on. But what about the performance of the hard drive itself?
It's quite short after I'd been playing with the HP ENVY 14 SPECTRE, then I couldn't hold myself to get my hands on the HP SPECTRE XT. Smaller, but the one I have my hands on it, has more power compares to the ENVY 14 I have. I will talk about the technical side right after I'm sharing my personal impression.
I recognize that this isn't the first review about HP ENVY 14 SPECTRE. However, I intend to have my own habit to know things that I use, deeper, to know better about it for my daily use. Pretty much like a boy when he gets a new toy. He's gonna play with it all day. I'm sure so is everybody.
I've been using HP Mobile Workstation for years, since my very own nw8240, to the current 8760w. Yes, they are not slim, but they bring me the performance I need for my daily work, and its stability are so amazing. Now, I'm having my hands on the HP ENVY 14 SPECTRE, which has earned few fascinating awards at some shows around the globe. Impressive Design! That's the only word came cross my mind the first time seeing the HP Z1 when it was launched in Jakarta. Then dozens of questions followed, along with the introduction and some preliminary tests I made to the test bed unit.
But first, let's get into people's impressions when they saw Z1, the first time. |
