SGK Was Honored to Deliver Furniture Design Materials at Himpunan Desainer Mebel Indonesia (HDMI) Seminar and Workshop, Based on Revolutionary Rhinoceros 6.
September 2019 - It was a great honor for SGK, to be invited and share some of best practice in product design, in Himpunan Desainer Mebel Indonesia (HDMI) Seminar covering some areas in design process, using Rhinoceros 6. SGK's Director, Bimo Adi Prakoso, was the keynote speaker in the seminar, as well as the mentor during the workshop after the seminar was finished, mid day. Some approaches for furniture design was address and simulated using Rhinoceros and each participant were able to practice by themselves using Rhinoceros 6 trial version which would give them the next 90 days to learn and use, before the license expires. SGK would like to extend HDMI for the opportunity, and we look forward to establish mutually beneficial business relantionship between HDMI and SGK.
SGK Incubates New "Young Engineers and Scientists" Subsidiary, That Delivers Aeronautics Learning to Elementary and High School Students
September 2019 - Another ground breaking move by SGK, establishing and incubating a new entity, YOUNG ENGINEERS and SCIENTISTS (YES), a place for youngsters to learn about aeronautics, that delivers the substantial knowledge of thrust, lift, drag and gravity through activities that let them play with designs, experiment and build their own planes. Even planes with electronics so it can be controlled remotely. The activities blend a new format of education through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), making the activities a learning process just like we commonly find in engineering design process. Plenty of discussions were established to stimulate their critical and computational thinking. Through the activities, students will learn each part of STEM, know how it works, how it's designed, how it's constructed, and how a plane will fly, and try themselves to construct it and balance the Center of Gravity through some experiments that involves practical mathematics so their plane will fly the way they want it to fly.
Each activities are being conducted in a mall, giving it the sense of playing instead of "going to school". Therefore, the students are preparing their mind to play in such effective well plotted flow and materials. The first activities of YES was conducted in Tamini Square Mall, East Jakarta. A wide range of participating student from grade 4 to grade 9 were having fun and finally flew their planes. The activities are being conducted regularly. Graphics Performance Goes Radical - Nvidia and AMD Deliver The Next Level Achievements
March 2019 - The last 6 months, have been very interesting for computer graphics industry. The achievement of 7nm processor manufacturing by AMD surely opens up the next possibilities in features and performance, as well as power efficiency. AMD introduced their first Radeon VII, the world's first 7nm gaming GPU. Just as all earlier introduction of gaming GPU, it will be followed by the introduction of the next professional GPUs product line that will replace their current high performance graphics such as Radeon Pro, Radeon Pro Duo and Radeon Pro SSG which is the first professional graphics that carries 16GB of HBM2 GPU memory along with 2TB Solid State Graphics memory. The Radeon Pro SSG allows professional to work with up to 8K video playback, more VR content and details, as well as 10-bit color. Nvidia didn't just stand there. They introduced the RTX gaming graphics line which consists of real time ray tracing core, implemented inside their GPU. This allows real time ray tracing computing to be available for complex and massive lighting computation. Shortly after, they came up with the introduction of RTX professional graphics, under the name of Quadro RTX, based on Turing architecture. Their Quadro RTX line up are available in a wide range of choices: RTX 4000, RTX 5000, RTX 6000 and RTX 8000. All new Quadro RTX cards are ready for VR. This is truly a good news for us all within the engineering and creative industry, as this would allow us to be more productive in order to shorten the production timeline by cutting down some time consuming process and focus ourselves to achieve the objective of the expected final product. |
