"A Uniquely Tailored Grasshopper Online Classroom That Carries the Atmosphere of Physical Classroom"

Introduction
The initiative to deliver Grasshopper online learning session was immediately engaged to support people who stay at home during Covid-19 Pandemic. The biggest challenge of the preparation was to move everything into a sequence of comprehensive materials that ensures fluid communication between the mentor and participants, as well as the "atmosphere" of face-to-face meeting in a classroom.

Grasshopper Online Accelerated Learning Session, is successfully developed to give an opening to many new Grasshopper users in Indonesia, and not forgetting users who have been using Rhinoceros in their day-to-day work and have very little time should they spend 1-2 weeks to attend a common Grasshopper class. Not only this could be the answer to jumpstart users to immediately getting themselves familiar to and able to master Grasshopper, it will develop such broader mindset in order to find more about Grasshopper themselves after the class is over.

• Materials were developed based on hypothesis-synthesis-analysis approach to open up the understanding and construct the algorithm building mindset in order to align with Grasshopper workflow.

• Online face-to-face (audio and video) teaching and Screen Sharing, with intentionally very limited numbers of participants to reach high level of lessons delivery effectiveness. Each participant will be able to look at the mentor's display on their own computer, in real-time.
  

The Classroom

• MAXIMUM OF 4 ONLINE PARTICIPANTS in a single classroom per session.
  
• Total of 8 hours of LIVE ONLINE CLASSROOM guided by professional mentor/trainer. No pre-recorded session.
• A virtual classroom is the environment of a mixed of participants having different background like architects, engineers, designers, professionals, students and even hobbyists.
• Online session is conducted through secure and efficient connection, supported by interactive audio and video environment that allows for bi-directional communication between mentor/trainer and participants, to mimic physical classroom needed for a training session.

The Online Classroom

The Objectives

1. Each participant wil finish the whole session in just 2 days (total of 8 hours of online live training).
2. The complete session is intended to construct and develop participants' hypothesis-synthesis-analysis computational mindset, in order to be able to use Grasshopper and design their own proper sequence/flow of algorithm.
   
3. After completing the session, each participant will receive Grasshopper Accelerated Learning Session Certificate of Completion.

Online Classroom's Lesson Sample

Prerequisite and Requirements

1. Familiar with Rhinoceros, or current user of Rhinoceros, because Grasshopper is a built-in  feature inside Rhinoceros.
2. A computer per participant that meets Rhinoceros' minimum or recommended configuration. More detail information can be found HERE.
3. Having full and complete installation of Rhinoceros 6 license on participant's computer before the learning session.
4. For those who don't have license of Rhinoceros, trial version works well too, in order to learn how to use Grasshopper. Trial license works for 90-days without any limitation and can be downloaded HERE.
5. Connected to wired or wireless broadband internet as both video and audio are streamed from mentor's computer to all participants' computers/notebooks.
6. Complete audio out/speaker and audio in/mic in order to establish bi-directional audio communication between all. Recent computers are equipped with audio device but user needs to have speaker and mic in order to use it. Most notebooks carry both speaker and mic built in the system.
7. Having 2nd monitor/display is highly recommended to display the mentor's/trainer's screen as main display is showing participant's Rhinoceros software.
   
8. Web cam is required to support face-to-face discussion.
