Computer power has grown exponentially for all market segments from personal computing using laptops, business computing using desktops up to enterprise computing using servers installed on datacenters. This trend, brings so many benefits to users from all segments, specially engineers, designers, architects, analysts, up to hobbyists. Rendering isn't a problem anymore as real-time rendering can be achieved using common gaming notebooks and not locked into mobile workstations or even desktop workstations. And the difference in terms of performance, is getting blurry each day. And now, we'll bring you another interesting experiment to show the potentials of knowing the technology and the guts to break the barrier, and success. Rhinoceros 8 has been released for quite some time. There have been some updates from McNeel, the developer of Rhino, as well as some tips and tricks from Sentra Grafika Kompumedia's customers in order to go with better productivity, efficiency and faster workflow in using Rhino. Now, Sentra Grafika Kompumedia (SGK), as always, will put further test on Rhino 8, in designing F-16 XL RC Plane, from nothing, to production layout. Remember, SGK is also user of Rhino. We're not just selling it.  Research: HP Zbook 17 G6, Showcasing Multiple Virtualization for Multiple Users. Simultaneously1/11/2021  In our earlier research, we successfully managed to establish virtual workstation hosted by a notebook. Well, it's not an ordinary notebook. It's a HP Zbook 17 G6 mobile workstation. Even though the Zbook 17 G6 was introduced in mid 2019 by Hewlett Packard, it's not still performing strongly. The one we have here carries Quadro T1000 professional GPU from Nvidia. However, it's easy to equip the Zbook 17 G6 with more powerful desktop GPUs, using its Thunderbolt 3 port and an enclosure, just like we have here. But we would simply go with its built-in discrete graphics (Quadro T1000) so it will give much clearer picture of how this standard Zbook 17 G6 configuration would perform, providing enough power for 2 users simultaneously: its user and another remote user.

Sorry Windows 7 users, Rhinoceros 7 can not be installed to your machine with your preferred OS. I think it's time for Win 7 users to upgrade to Win 10, along with Rhinoceros 7. However, with the OS upgrade requirement, Rhino 7 gives offerings that many couldn't resist.

On November 18, 2019, HP introduced HP ZCentral solution that consists of HP ZCentral Remote Boost and ZCentral Connect. For some, these two seem to be new products. However, it's actually an evolution of their existing Remote Graphics Software (RGS). I personally received some questions from my existing customers in relation with their existing investment on HP Workstations, as well as their future. I will try to cut all the long explanation I gave short, in this second article of HP ZCentral.   The world is now populated with many CAD software. Some are already well known in the industry, while some others are open source, and even free. There are also some different licensing models, applied to users when using different CAD software for their computers.
As a graduated engineer and hard core designer in RC plan/UAV hobbyist, I've been working and using different CAD software the last 2.5 decades. And from my point of view, Rhinoceros 6 is just the perfect answer to my needs and of course many others which are related to 3d modeling, outputting archive as layouts (2D drawing), manual construction of my own designs, up to 3d printing parts for my personal R&D as well as sharing the simplicity and easiness to other fellow engineers and designers. |
