HP LP2480ZX was the first HP DreamColor generation announced in March 2007, developed by HP in order to meet Dreamworks Animation SKG requirements in producing their animation features. This LP2480ZX display is able to sport full feature preview display up to full HD resolution. And it could be utilized to have 2K preview display as well, along with extremely accurate color, matching the industry standards (sRGB, REC601, REC709). It's about time for me to get back to the fast lane, using mobile workstation, after a year relying on my good old HP Envy 14 Spectre, aside from my HP 8760w. The Envy 14 had been serving me very well in every day's task, and it's time for it to take a break. Just got the new HP Zbook 14 around a week ago. The extra work would be migrating all data to this new speeding notebook.
So, by not wasting lots of time, I started to back up everything on my Envy 14, and prepare it to be migrated to the new ZBook 14. Aaaaah, ....... there's nothing like a peace and quite midnight to start migrating all my data. It's been few days since I've been putting some real-world practical tests on to the new HP Pro x2 410 G1 hybrid notebook. Yes, it's the new HP ultrathin notebook hybrid that could easily transform to Windows 8.1 tablet.
Since I've been using HP Mobile Workstations (the only notebook that doesn't fit to Mobile Workstation category yet I admire so much, is my HP Envy 14 Spectre) for years, once I had my hands on the HP Pro x2, I didn't have high expectation on it. Frankly speaking, I just wanna put some benchmark tests to see how it compared to other tablets and business notebooks. In the end, I'm quite surprised of what this new business product from HP can do. I decided to carry it along with me in some business meetings and presentations, and finish some of my daily tasks. Back in 2005 when HP made it released to public, the HP XW9300 Workstation was the King of The Hill. Not only equipped with Dual AMD Opteron Gen1 Processors, it accommodated Nvidia Quadro FX 4800, as the top-tier professional OpenGL graphics accelerator. Somehow, when I went to my "playground" (actually it used to be our demo and presentation room), my eyes got dragged to my old XW9300. It recalled few snapshots when most of workstation community users in Indonesia admired that particular workstation. Some questions surfaced "Can that thing operate now? How does it compare to other current HP Workstations? Should I bring it to life again?". Well, frankly speaking, I'm still building few RC planes now, inspired by some drones out there. But, my curiosity led me approaching that workstation.
If you use your smartphone, there are many ways in adjusting, tweaking and optimizing it to make sure that you have enough battery juice to power your smartphone the whole day. An additional way is bringing a portable power bank close to your smartphone. Let's have a look on some issues I encountered myself, on my daily work. I won't be mentioning every single of them, but only few that attracted my attention the most.
Most Engineers and Graphics Artists choose HP Workstations as their Performance Rig to complete their tasks. It's always good to have the chance to get the latest HP Workstation or even HP Mobile Workstation. Before investment is made, mostly lots of discussions are being conducted along with IT departments or IT Support, to select which system that meets the demand and requirements of day-to-day jobs. However, some IT tech supports are also responsible to keep the HP Workstation at its peak performance to keep the deadline met, aside from the users themself.
This article, will try to help most HP Workstation existing customers and even potential customers, to have clearer reference on how to get the most out of your next HP Workstation investment. Following up the information about new HP ZBook 15 as Realtime 4K Video Editing Beast, I've managed to secure my time in writing a hands on review, including the benchmark on "the beast". This would be the first hands on review of the unit in Indonesia.
Happy New Year 2014, Everyone! This very first day of 2014, after browsing the net for a while, I've found a very interesting video article about the new HP ZBook 15. Frankly speaking, the video brought my jaw on the table (of course on the table not the floor, because while I was watching it I put my Envy 14 Spectre on the table). I've never seen such performance in my life, coming out of a mobile workstation.
Selecting a notebook for your daily needs, or even using it for particular tasks could be easy, but sometimes it gets tougher than you think. Netbook had been left behind since lots of people are now being amazed by how tablet can do more tasks and have fun with it. However, notebook will still be here next to us. So, in order to assist you in choosing which notebook suits you, I would share some tips that might slightly be useful to you.
It's been few months since my last article in this site. However, I don't want you to have no updates which you may have missed in from any internet sources. So now, I'm gonna share one "small yet big" thing for Blender 3D: MOTION CAPTURE SUPPORT.
Most architects and designers are having difficulties in designing objects or even buildings with complex surfaces and structures. Well, this concerns and issues should be in the past, if they use Rhinoceros of McNeel & Associates.
Not just drafting 2D or modeling 3D objects, McNeel's Rhinoceros and Grasshopper associative modeling for Rhinoceros make paneling as easy as just drag and drop. This had been the answer for Moshe Safdie & Associates, an architect firm in Somerville, Massachusetts, when their design won the bid for prestigious Marina Bay Sands project, in Singapore. Not Long Ago, In The Industry Not Far Away ...
For those who have been in the 3D industry in Indonesia since 90's, you may be familiar with 3ds Max which I introduced to Indonesian market in 1996. I knew so many people not only in Indonesia, but some industry major players as well. One of the highly known and respected, is Daniel Martinez Lara known as Pepe. You may want to check his website at www.pepeland.com. He was one of few well known 3ds Max pioneering animators in the world. Why? Because 3ds Max was not being considered as a professional choice. I was also struggling in order to introduce 3ds Max in Indonesia. His thoughts were awesome in order to open up people's mind. So you're an engineer, designer, architect, ... what ever. So you use CAD, for daily work in drafting your production drawing. You need to ask few questions, before you come to the BIG QUESTION, listed as the title above. However, having more than 10 years of CAD experience on my end, seeing so many people using CAD (learning from the beginning - college, up to professionals), they don't use even 50% of the features even in just 2D CAD application. So, let's just go to the questions you need to ask your self.
I hope any of you haven't experienced an awful situation with your notebook, when you found all of a sudden, you're hard drive stopped working, and all of your important data might got lost, for good. HDD potential failures can happen even more when you're transporting your computer when it's up and running. For instance, you're having a presentation and it's your turn to show it, you'll bring your computer forward. Rough handlings, bumps, and even drops will bring the risk of HDD failure, up significantly.
